Calling All iPad Users, I'm a Newbie!

Guess what?  My hubby and family got together this year to buy me an ipad mini for my birthday!  I'm so excited to be able to start out the school year with my new toy, but am soooo in need of advice.  I have to admit that I have no idea what I'm doing but have gotten this far anyways to be able to post in my blog and access my google drive.

So, what are your most favourite apps for school?  I don't have much time so I need your input as soon as possible!  I have downloaded Evernote, but am not sure how to use it!  I just remember someone posting that it was good!  I also downloaded the icloud app as well to be able to use Word and PowerPoint and also have BlogLovin  but that is it!  So bring on the tips!

Happy Monday!

  1. Hi Jenn,
I've had an iPad for a year, but we're just starting to use them this year with our sixth graders. So far, I've found a couple of apps that I'm going to try with them: Wonderopolis - for a great "wonder" of the day, Jumbline - a word game, Hooked on Words - another word game, and one I'm not sure about yet (it feels too easy, but maybe not?) called ChainThought.
I'm also curious to see what other people have found.

  2. Congratulations!

I've had my iPad for three years and I absolutely love it! This year I'm part of a pilot and all my students will be getting iPads!! Great apps and programs that you'd love? Class Dojo - a behavior management tool, Animoto - Create awesome videos, Edmodo - an awesome educational social community for teachers and their students, Explain Everything - create online video lessons....oh I could go on and on!

If you're interested, email me at and I'll share with you a resource that I used for a Web 2.0 tool presentation.

    Enjoy your iPad!

  3. Thanks for your comments - I will be definitely checking out those apps!
